I GO! Edition 25: September: Harvest of Light, Darkness of Choices

Back to life, back to reality. Bliss!

08/31/2025

“As the alluring song of September begins to whisper in my ear, my passionate spirit yearns for the splendour of its promise,” Peggy Toney Horton

Tomorrow, it’s back to your beats, September.

And you are my favourite!
Summer lingers. Warm light, sharper air, evenings draw in. The tide of familiarity returns, cities wake, pages turn.

‘Tis the season of restarts: new notebooks, sharpened pencils, fresh possibilities.

After weeks by the sea, lulled by the rhythm of waves and tides, silence screams. The quiet? Always necessary, but now the pulse of urban life and work calls - vibrant, gregarious, diverse. Loud. Bursting with infinite serendipities.

Oh September, you liminal thing, you make everything feel possible.
Ripened figs. New projects. Rich pickings.

September, to some, you sing this repetitive tune.

Duties. Responsibilities. Debts and Choices. Lives that just ‘happened.’

But not me, September. I was longing for you - and your promise.

“Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year's mistakes had been wiped clean by summer,” Wallace Stegner, Angle of Repose.
